Like many people out there, losing weight naturally was perhaps the hardest thing for me to do. To be honest, I have been struggling with weight-loss for as long as I can remember.

In the last few years, I have tried everything from hiring a personal gym trainer to even consulting a dietician. Can you believe it? Paying money to someone who would recommend me a diet that I was not even going to follow! It was making me go crazy because at that time I genuinely believed that, “you can’t just switch from constantly munching on ‘junk food’ to eating ‘healthy’ in one day.”

But I was wrong, because you can actually change your eating habits in a single-day and improve your immunity, as long as you have made-up your mind. The one thing that I was lacking at that time was dedication. However, after trying and failing several times, I was finally able to lose weight with the help of these 8 different ways. And, today I would like to share them with you amazing people out there:

Doing cardio alone may help you burn those extra fats in your body; however, it will not help you get in shape. But you can achieve a toned body by including weight training in your workout regime. Now, when I say that you need to lift weights, I don’t mean lifting 80 or 100lbs, you can easily lift 20 to 30lbs, and still get in shape.

Further, you don’t even need to go to a gym, just buy some basic weights and start training at home! Other than that, if you are still not very interested in lifting weights, you can always try Yoga or Aerobics to lose weight naturally and improve immune system.

Remember when I had earlier told you about my little visits to a dietician, this next weight loss tip is from that instance. The reason why you should plan out and divide your meals into smaller portions is that it helps you increase your metabolism rate (you feel less hungry).

Thus, your stomach feels satiated even when you have consumed less amount of food (calories). Another thing that you can do to keep control over your appetite is to chew your food properly. Yes, you heard it correctly! Chewing your food slowly and properly tricks your brain into believing that you are consuming a lot of food (calories), when you are actually not! This is perhaps the most important part that we often overlook when trying to lose weight. A balanced diet is not only important to lose weight naturally but also to improve your overall immunity system. When you plan your diet properly, it will only complement your cardio and weight training.

Thus, to help you plan your diet, here are a few tips from my end:

  • Try to include all the essential macro nutrients such as proteins, fat, and carbohydrates.
  • If possible, include high-fiber ingredients such as brown rice, oats, etc. in your diet.
  • Add lean protein in your diet (chicken, eggs) or (beans, nuts), according to your preference.
  • Also, include low-fat or fat-free dairy in your diet.
  • Try to include as many vegetables and fruits in your diet as possible.

In order to lose weight naturally, you must always remember this golden rule: “eat breakfast like a king and dinner like a beggar”.

The reason why I am putting emphasis on this is that your body needs those extra calories in the morning. You need those calories to burn and create energy, which will help you to perform various activities throughout the day. However, if you eat a heavy meal during dinner time, all those calories will remain unutilized and further add to your weight.

Also, before you work-out, make sure to consume a protein bar, this will decrease the amount of exertion on your body.

Avoid carbonated drinks

Drinking those sweetened carbonated drinks is perhaps the worst thing that you can do to your body. And the sad thing is that I am not even kidding when I say this! I know that we all like drinking those sweet little soda drinks, but the truth is that they are nothing but bad news for your health.

A carbonated drink is a combination of sodium, high-sugar content, and caffeine; all of which are bad for your body. The various ways through which a can of coke or sprite may harm your health are:

  • By causing hyper acidity
  • Increasing your aging process
  • Messing up hormones in a pretty bad way
  • Increasing fat-levels in your body
  • Causing teeth and gum diseases.

You will be surprised to know that your body burns calories even while you are sleeping! Other than that, when you sleep for 8 or 9 hours every day, your body releases the leptin hormone, which helps you to suppress hunger and consume fewer calories.

However, when you are sleep-deprived, your body produces a hormone called ghrelin, which forces you to consume more amount of food. Further, a poor sleep pattern also increases the overall calorie intake and decreases your metabolism rate. Thus, a good night’s sleep goes a long way in helping you lose weight naturally.

The core goal while losing weight is to mostly improve a person’s overall immunity system; and what better way than to do it through the use of natural ingredients?

The two natural ingredients that work wonders in helping you achieve this feat are lemon water and honey. This mixture kick-starts metabolism in your body and helps you burn more fat than usual.
